Karen Lynn Luque
June 15, 1945 - October 18, 2016
Karen Lynn Luque, 71, of Eagle, Idaho went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at home with her family after a 7 year long battle with ovarian cancer.
Karen was born in Boise on June 15, 1945 to John L. Luque and Genevieve Ann Luque. She was the second of four children. She grew up in Boise's north end.
She graduated from Boise High School and was 2nd runner up in Miss Boise Pageant in 1965.
As a young woman she worked as a 2nd grade teacher at Eagle Elementary. She married John (Jack) Louis Rost and had two children, John and Julie.
She was close to her Lord and was active within Aglow. She dabbled in real estate for a time and then in her forties decided to continue her education with a goal to help others. She received a doctorate degree from George Fox in Psychology. She worked as a Psychologist at the Warm Springs Counseling Center helping children, was the president elect of the Idaho Psychology Association and worked for the Caldwell School District as School Psychologist.
Her children and and grandchildren were the greatest joys in her life. She enjoyed celebrating life; using any occasion to gather the family; to spend quality time with her brothers and sister and loving her kids. She was extremely close to and so very proud of her two grandchildren, Nick and Dacia, whom she frequently spent time with.
She is survived by her sister Marianne Luque and brothers, John and Brett (Sheila), her son John (Cristina) and daughter Julie (Ed) and her two grandchildren, Nick and Dacia. As well as niece, Breanna and nephews, Jeffrey and Jordan.
