Lawrence Wesley DeLay
May 4, 1935 - February 15, 2017
Today we celebrate the life of Lawrence Wesley DeLay in awe. Larry peacefully ascended into the hereafter minutes before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, a day after Valentine's.
To live like Larry was to wake up every day with the single goal of spreading joy, delight and sweetness to those around him. He is remembered for his witty one-liners and the jolly air about him that radiated around.
Larry is survived by his four children Pamela and Steven Vogt, Michael and Colleen DeLay, Patrick and Laurie Delay and Christopher DeLay and his grandchildren Kayla, Bryce, Tyler and Jarod DeLay, Hilary and Jake Coltrin and Cordell and Hannah DeLay and two great grandchildren Kayden and Kylar deLay and several God children. Oh, and his fluffy Pomeranian Hey. All of whom he cherished dearly. Larry was an exemplary father, dear friend, and loyal lover.
His late wife, Mary, continued to be his muse and the love-of-his-life years after she had passed. Perhaps her passing was the cause of Larry's notorious restlessness, in which case, we can all find solace in the unity of these beautiful souls. Dad was truly loved and will be missed greatly.
