Lila Joy Morgan
Lila Joy Schneider Morgan passed through the Veil May 14, 2017, Mother's Day, after a long fight with Parkinson's disease. Her birth was a joyful event, born in Salmon, ID, Oct. 15, 1935 to Miles & Stella Schneider after 10 year old brother (Roy) had died and her brother, Bert, was 14 years old. Lila grew up in Salmon and worked at her family's Drive-In Theater. Very involved in school leadership, she was President of many clubs, class President, Drum Major of the Marching Band, Yearbook editor and Valedictorian. She married K. (Kyrel) Morgan in June 1953. Together they lived in many places and enjoyed 10 years in southern California, until they finally settled in Nampa ID in 1975. Lila enjoyed being a member of Toastmistress club, Garden Club, Red Hat Society, and the Nampa Civic Center Auxiliary, gardening, and food preservation.
Lila took care of the bookkeeping for K's businesses, the radiator shop and Sign Co, helped fix up rentals. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership callings, and teaching many classes on cooking, baking and food storage. For decades Lila hosted a Gingerbread House Party, for her daughters and all of her grandchildren. She was and amazing mother and grandmother. Her life was all about service, caring for Merilee (who had cerebral palsy) at home until her own health prevented it.
Lila's favorite things were traveling, eating pie ("Only 2 kinds; hot and cold"), and her favorite color was purple; which you may wear to the funeral, if you wish, to honor Lila Morgan, a special Lady.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1500 Smith Ave, Nampa Idaho. A viewing will be held starting at 9:00 a.m. Services are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel (208-467-7300).
