Louise M. Harbison
August 14, 1928 - March 19, 2017
Soldotna resident, Ms. Louise M. Harbison, 88, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Heritage Place in Soldotna.
A celebration of her life will be held this summer in Idaho.
Louise was born August 14, 1928 in Butte, Montana. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Boise State University and Master's Degree in education from the College of Idaho.
She retired from the Caldwell Idaho School District in 1994. In 2010 she moved to Alaska living in Soldotna. She loved reading, gardening, quilting, and traveling.
The family wrote, "Louise was a long-time public school educator and was a lifetime advocate for children's and women's rights. She was known to everyone as a kind, thoughtful, generous, and engaged person. Her selfless and tireless lifelong efforts will remain an example to us all."
She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Dan Harbison and Cathy Carrow of Soldotna; daughter and son in-law, Heidi Harbison and Gary Liles of Spokane, Washington; sister and brother in-law, Mary and Dave Daugharty of Cheney, Washington; brother and sister in-law, Jim and Joanne Henderson of Moscow, Idaho; grandson, IntiMayo Harbison of Anchorage and granddaughter, Xochiyollotl Harbison of Soldotna.
