Lowell Rubert Stoneman
October 2, 1922 - February 8, 2016
Lowell R. Stoneman, 93, of Caldwell passed peacefully to rest on February 8, 2016.
Lowell was born on October 2, 1922 to Hazel May Lynde Stoneman and Chelsea Stoneman at Milton, Oregon. Lowell married Lois Batzner on the 18th of September 1942.
Lois and Lowell lived in the Jordan Valley and Arock area in the early years of their marriage. Eventually, they settled in Willits and Ukiah, California where Lowell drove truck for many years. Lowell really enjoyed telling stories about his truck driving days. Lois and Lowell moved back to Caldwell, Idaho in 1998 and have since resided there.
Lowell is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lois. Lois and Lowell shared 73 years together. Lowell is also survived by his daughter, Verl and son-in-law, David Giese of Ukiah, California; two grandsons, Dean Giese of Ukiah and Larry Giese of Redwood Valley, California; one great-granddaughter of Oregon; two sisters, Shirley Brunetti of Post Falls, Idaho and Beverly Silcox of Oceanside, California. Lowell is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lowell was preceded in his passing by his parents; two brothers, Dr. James Stoneman and Norman Stoneman; and one sister, Nordell, who passed away in infancy; some nieces and nephews also preceded Lowell in his passing.
To Lowell R. Stoneman, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great uncle, and great-great uncle, it has truly been a pleasure to have had you in our lives. You will be forever loved and sorrowfully missed.
Lowell was a member of the Caldwell Seventh Day Adventist Church. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., March 1, 2016 at the Canyon Hill Cemetery. Pastor Juhl of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will preside. Arrangements were under the direction of Cremation Society of Idaho. www.cremationsociety-idaho.com
