Lyle George Ferney

Lyle George Ferney passed from this earth May 12, 2018. At the time George was living in Caldwell, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Ruth Ferney, his wife Juanita and brothers Gary and Don Ferney. Survivors include a sister, Jackie Baxter, children, Mike Ferney, Linda Green, Connie Williams and Brenda Overman. George was born on December 25, 1931 in Rexburg, Idaho. In 1939, he moved with his family to Boise, Idaho, where he attended elementary school. He met and began dating Juanita (Neta) Walter during their High School years. They were wed on May 26, 1950. After high school, George attended Boise Junior College, graduating in 1954. At this time he began an 18 year career working in the grocery business. In 1972, he left the grocery business to work for the Idaho Department of Labor. In 1994 he retired. George was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions for the church and cultivated long-lasting friendships with fellow church members as well as with work colleagues and community members. His legacy of service will be remembered by family and others who were recipients of his kind deeds. George and Neta were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 18, 1972. At this time their four children were sealed to them. Throughout his life, he enjoyed reading books, bicycling, movies, roller-skating, and running. The family of George Ferney expresses appreciation for the excellent care he received from Heart & Home Hospice. George will be interred in the Canyon Hill Cemetery next to his life-long sweetheart, Neta. The memorial service will be Saturday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center at 3015 South Kimball Ave, Caldwell. Family members will meet in the Relief Society Room at 10:00 a.m. Services will be under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapels. Condolences can be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
