Maria Angelica Garza
June 7, 1934 - April 20, 2015
Maria Angelica Garza, 80, of Caldwell, entered into rest on Monday, April 20, 2015 in Meridian, ID surrounded by her family. She was born June 7, 1934 to Teodoro and Rafaela Munoz in Mesa de las Tablas, Coahuila, Mexico.
Maria met and married Santos Garza Rios in 1954 and that same year they made their home in McAllen, TX. They later divorced but from their union, nine children were born. As migrant workers, they traveled to Arizona, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Oregon, and Idaho. They settled in Caldwell in 1972. Maria worked at JR. Simplot in Caldwell until her disability forced her retirement.
Our Mom will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, compassion, and devotion to her friends and family. She was fun loving, had a sense of humor and always made us laugh with her many jokes. Throughout her life she made many, many great friends in her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, which were very close to her heart. Her most important priority was reading her Bible and preparing for the meetings held at the Kingdom Hall and her love for the preaching work. Her interests included sewing, cooking and canning salsa which everyone loved and OH BOY!!, did she LIKE to travel! She recently traveled with her sister, Rosalva, to Texas to visit her ailing sister, Elvita, where she spent quality time with her brother and sisters.
Our Mom was an amazing mother, raising her children as a single parent. She always put her children's needs first and showered us with so much love. She was an example to us all. She was the best mother in law anyone could have and we were privileged to call her mom. She was a grandmother, sister and aunt who was loved and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children; Eva (Ruben) Reyna, Gilbert (Diana) Garza, Olga (Joe) Arredondo, Juan (Linda) Garza, Alfredo (Anna) Garza, Sergio (Sara) Garza and Sylvia (David) Hunter, 34 Grandchildren, 35 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great- Grandchild. Brothers; Oscar (Ernestina) Munoz from Mexico; Jose (Nabuko) Munoz from Texas; sisters: Elva Salazar from Texas, Dora Casas Sanchez from Mexico and Rosalva Padilla from Caldwell and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Sons: Santo Jr. and Armando Garza and Great- Grandson, Izaak Mario Anguiano, Brother-In-Law Jesus Padilla. We would like to thank Encompass Home Health Care and St. Luke's ICU staff in Meridian for their kindness and support through this hard time. Maria's Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, ID. Condolences may be given at www.Flahifffuneralchapel.com
