Marjorie K. Davis
October 7, 1927 - February 24, 2015
Marjorie K. Davis died at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 of natural causes.
Marj was born to George Clifford and Opal Nevada (Emmons) Fox in Jay Em, Wyoming on October 7, 1927, the third of six children.
The combination of the Great Depression and several years of drought took its final toll on the family farm in the early 1930s.
They moved to Caldwell and set about making a new home.
Marjorie graduated from Caldwell High School with the class of 1945. She then entered nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Nampa.
Marjorie married Roy Gordon Davis on Valentine's Day, 1946. To this union were born 5 children, Shannon, Kenneth, Janice, Andrew and Sheila. Through the late 1940s and early '50s, the family moved frequently all over Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and a bit of Wyoming. The family eventually settled in Nampa in 1961. Marjorie and Roy divorced in 1969, and true to her Catholic faith, she never remarried.
She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Paul's parish since 1961. She served in St. Paul's Altar Society and The Legion of Mary for many years and retired from the Catholic the Diocese of Boise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Jean, her brother George 'Bud' Fox of Caldwell; her sisters Shirley Johnson of Caldwell and Mary Catherine Wallace of Twin Falls; and her grandson Sean Davis.
Marjorie is survived by her five children; Shannon Christensen of Fairbanks, AK; Ken Davis (Aimee Stocks) of Caldwell, Janice Davis-Niles of Annandale, VA; Andrew Davis (Yan Hao) of Caldwell; and Sheila Keim (Todd) of Nampa and Goodyear, AZ; and brother Gary Fox (Bev) of Meridian. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. We will all miss Marj but remember her fondly and with love.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa, followed by burial at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Viewing hours will be Thursday, March 5, between 5 and 7 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The full obituary can be read and condolences may be shared at
