Marlene Mae Penner Kerby
October 2, 1934 - February 2, 2015
Marlene Mae Penner Kerby, 80, was born October 2, 1934 in Madrid, Nebraska. She grew up there until her family moved to Idaho. She graduated from high school in Notus, Idaho. After high school, Marlene worked for one of Simplot's processing plants. She met and married Frank Kerby Jr. They were later divorced.
She was able to stay home and raise her girls while they were in school. Then she began a career at St. Alphonsus Hospital working in the environmental services department. She retired after nineteen years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret Penner; her brothers Ardean, Alton, and Dean; sisters Arlyce Weatherspoon and Joan Ivie.
She is survived by her daughters Donna (Larry) Hallock, Debbie Kerby (Bryan) Diamond, Julie (Mark) Farnsworth. Brothers Don (Doris) Penner, Bob (Carol) Penner, and Len (Jonie) Penner; sisters-in-law Ginny Penner and Ardie Penner. 3 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She attended Broadway Baptist (now Bridgepoint) church, until her devastating illness (Lewy Body Dementia). Some of her passions were her belief in God, traveling, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. One of Marlene's passions was being a Scrabble wiz.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015, from 4-6 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11:00AM also at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Condolences can be given at
