Maxine Olesen Bowne
March 25, 1927 - May 23, 2016
Maxine Bowne, 89, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016, of natural causes. On March 25, 1927, in Notus, Idaho. Maxine Loree Olesen was born to her parents, Bertha Ellen (Rigley) and Peter Scott Olesen joining her 2 year-old sister, Patria Jean Olesen, to complete their family. The family soon thereafter moved from Notus to Middleton and then eventually settled in Caldwell.
Maxine attended Lincoln Grade School and Caldwell High School. While in high school she met Jack Clement. They married right out of high school and had 4 children over the next nine years: Jacqueline, Scott, Michael and Candace. Maxine and Jack were divorced and Maxine then married Bill Bowne in 1961. Maxine and Bill completed their family with son, Bart.
A conscientious and hard worker her whole life, Maxine's employment history dates back to her high school days with jobs at Todd's Ice Cream parlor, the local movie theater and the Caldwell Drug Store. After working as a homemaker, Maxine worked at the Caldwell Public Library and attended the College of Idaho. She later worked at the Family Medical Clinic for 25 years. Maxine studied and obtained her Real Estate license and sold real estate in the Treasure Valley. Her last job before retiring was with Gary Lasher Construction.
Maxine loved her school friends and faithfully attended high school reunions. The last one she attended, her 60th, brought her great joy. She was a great friend to her fellow classmates and forged deep and lasting friendships.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Clement and Candace (Steve) Clement-Warne; her sons, Scott (Leslie) Clement, Michael (Malcom Askew) Clement, and Barton (Lisa) Bowne; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her sister, Patria (Charles) Kerrick, and loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Bertha Olesen; her husband, Bill Bowne; and her former in-laws, Roy and Helen Clement, Louise Pamperien, and Ray Bowne.
Maxine was very artistic and loved designing and decorating her houses, especially with plants, to create warm and inviting homes. She was very accepting of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life. Maxine loved unconditionally. Her greatest joys in life were the times spent at her vacation home in Cascade, Idaho, surrounded by family, food, laughter and love.
There will be a celebration of Maxine's life on Thursday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the C.V. Peckham Community Center (next door to Dakan Funeral Chapel) in Caldwell, Idaho. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
