Mike was born on January 27, 1941 in San Pedro, California to Ray and Mary Jane(Elliot) Celentano. He was the youngest child of two sons.
Mike graduated from San Pedro High School in 1959. In 1962, after attending Harbor Junior College, he joined the City of Los Angeles Fire Department, where he served the city and worked in many leadership roles. He retired from the fire department in 1986, then worked for 6 years as the Fire Inspector for the City of Coos Bay in Oregon. Mike finished his career as a Code Enforcement Officer with the City of Nampa, retiring in December of 2002.
Mike had many fond childhood memories with his family. He was especially close to his brother, Bob. He loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Mike spent many summers on the Colorado River working as a river guide for Georgie White's rafting company. He also enjoyed playing softball and was an avid football fan.
Mike made friends easily, no one was a stranger to him. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served in many leadership positions. He was compassionate, and was quick to help those in need.
