Nancy Catherine Connors
August 01, 1969 - January 21, 2017
Nancy Catherine Connors (Manning), 46, passed away on January 21, 2017 at her home in Caldwell, ID. She was born on August 01, 1969 in Martinsville, VA to John Stanley and Elsie Manning.
Nancy grew up in Axton, VA. She graduated from Laurel Park High School in Martinsville, VA in 1987. After high school she attended University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Immediately after graduating, Nancy worked as a travelling neo-natal intensive care nurse. She was able to see much of the country during that time. She eventually settled in Boise, ID; accepting a NICU position with St Luke's Children's Hospital. While in the NICU she acted as a preceptor, training nurses new to neo-natal care. She also took care of babies who were born prematurely and/or with severe medical conditions. She last worked with St Luke's Mountain States Urology as a Registered Nurse. She is highly regarded by her co-workers for her caring, her charm, and her skills. In her last position, she worked for St Luke's Mountain States Urology as a nurse. Even while on hospice care, Nancy still wanted to take care of others. She would often ask visitors how they were doing and making sure they were taking care of themselves.
Nancy married Lester Emmett Connors in 2009 in Nampa, ID. They were happily married for six and half years. Among Nancy's many interests were bowling, travelling, and sightseeing in the country's national parks. She was a proud holder of a National Park Service passport and collected stamps to show which parks she had been to. One of her favorite places to travel to is the Disney Parks. She loved many of the rides, but especially loved the Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain. One of the many traditions she shared with her husband was making sure to get a photo on Splash Mountain every time they went.
Nancy is survived by her spouse Lester of Caldwell, ID; her brother John Stanley Manning Jr. of Raleigh, NC and her sisters Francis Manning and Liz Corns of Axton, VA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother Elsie.
A celebration of life will be held in Nampa, ID on Feb 18th from 2PM to 4PM. The location is the Silver Crest Estates clubhouse at 1907 W Flamingo.
There will also be a celebration held in Axton, VA which is where Nancy grew up. The date and location will be announced later. Nancy's ashes will be spread in Yellowstone National Park, per her wishes.
