Nellene Sue House
January 12, 1951 - May 18, 2015
Nellene (Nell) Sue House (Schamber) was born on January 12, 1951 and passed into the waiting arms of the Lord on May 18, 2015 at the age of 64. She was the third and last daughter to be born from Harold and Alma Schamber. The family moved from Nebraska to Ontario, OR where Nell and her sisters grew up working on a dairy farm and learning the value of hard work. On a blind date, Nell met the love of her life - Lynn S House and they were married in 1971. They lived a short period of time in Japan while Lynn was still in the Navy and eventually settled and made a home in Idaho where they created a beautiful life together. They lived for 20 years in McCall, ID and then relocated to Middleton, ID in the late 1990's.
Nell was the kind of mother that worked very hard and asked for very little in return - selfless and loving to the end. She always put her family first, and raising 3 children was a full time job, but she also enjoyed working at Our Savior Lutheran Church in McCall, Nampa Christian Church and Friendship Celebration in Meridian, ID as an office administrator among many other small or large jobs that came her way. She loved being a mother, writing, gardening, camping, playing the piano and cooking. She never missed a school band concert and loved music. She looked forward to and organized many family reunions and events. She loved it when family and extended family were together under one roof, laughing and sharing stories. Her steadfast faith and relationship with God helped her survive so many of life's challenges. She was a two time breast cancer survivor and took so much pride in participating in the Race for the Cure while her health would let her. What kept her going was her faith, love of family and a strong German stubborn streak.
She loved her husband and children dearly, but her grandchildren were the most precious gifts in her life and they gave her so much joy. She never passed up an opportunity to visit the grandkids and take pride in their accomplishments and loved getting pictures and videos of all the things they were up to when she couldn't make it to an event in person.
A viewing for close family and friends will occur on Friday, May 22 at Cloverdale Funeral Home from 5 pm to 7 pm. A celebration of her life and reception will be held at Friendship Celebration 765 E. Chinden Blvd, Meridian, ID 83646 on Saturday May 23 at 2:00. She will be laid to rest in Cloverdale Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 26 at 3:00 pm.
Nell is survived by and will be dearly missed by her husband, Lynn House (Middleton, ID) and children, Scott and Lisa House (Middleton, ID), Nathan and Marty House (Meridian, ID), and Laurie and Jake Funston (Boise, ID). Sisters: Janet Hewitt (Corvallis, OR), Roslyn Clegg (Enterprise, OR) and 5 very loved grandchildren: Emily and Ashton House (14 & 12), Kelton and Sawyer House (10 & 8) and Adam Funston (1).
Please consider making a donation to either Friendship Celebration Church or Life Flight in lieu of flowers.
