Nichole Marie Neff
October 10, 1972 - November 2, 2014
"Niki "was born on October 10, 1972 in Nampa Idaho, to Ronald & Carolyn (Holladay) Neff. She passed away at her home in Naples, Florida on November 2, 2014.
Niki started her education at St. Pauls Catholic School in Nampa, completing grades 1 through 6. During this period, she was very active in ballet, starting at the age of three and dancing for ten years. At age 8, she became a 3rd class gymnast at Karcher Academy of Gymnastics, winning several meets. Niki went to Vallivue Junior High and Vallivue High School, graduating in 1990. While there, she enjoyed playing volley ball, soft ball, tennis and cheerleading. Tennis was her favorite sport, seeded 2nd on the team and excelling in it. After high school Niki worked for the City of Caldwell starting in the water department and then working for the Caldwell Police Department as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police. While working there, Nike met her first husband, Steve Uriguen. They were married in 1992 and divorced in 1998. Niki was working for a nursing service in the billing department in Boise when she met and married James Melanson in 2001. From this union, they had their amazing daughter, Alexyss Nichole Melanson. Niki was the office manager for McMillan Medical Clinic in Boise when they decided to move to Naples, Florida in 2004, to make their home. Niki and James divorced in 2007. In Florida, Niki worked for Collier County Health Services in the billing office and then worked for Community 4-Life Pregnancy Centers. This was the job that Niki loved the most, helping to save babies.
All who knew Niki will remember her great sense of humor, her contagious laugh, her amazingly big heart, her tremendous love for her daughter, Alexyss and the desire to return home to Idaho. She did not get to come home to Idaho but she did get to go home to her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Niki is survived by her daughter, Alexyss Melanson of Naples, Florida; her mother and step-father, Carolyn and Sid Maxwell of Greenleaf; her brother, Brandon and his wife, Chasity Neff; her nieces, Lillian Jo and Chloe Neff; and step-niece and nephew, Madelynn and Sean Telford, all of Caldwell. She is also survived by her step-sister, Andrea and her husband, Ken Ferjancik, and their son, Ivan of Santa Fe, NM; and her step-brother, Jeff and his wife, Jana Maxwell, of Nampa. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Neff, and her grandparents, Joe and Lillian Holladay and R.D. Jr. and Phyllis Neff.
Although it is with sadness, there will be a celebration of Niki's life on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 1:00 at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Please come and share your memories of Niki during her celebration of life and on her memorial webpage at
