Pamela Louise Olenik
October 17, 1952 - June 5, 2016
Pamela Louise Olenik, 63, of Adrian, Oregon, died with her family at her bedside on June 5, 2016 at a Caldwell hospital following a battle with cancer.
Born to Donald Roberts and Albertine Kinzer Roberts on Oct. 17, 1952 in Nyssa, Oregon, she was the oldest of 4 children. Pam attended schools throughout Idaho, following her father's banking career. She graduated from Parma High School in 1971.
As a senior, she met Joe Olenik who fell in love with her at first sight and proposed on a rainy night. They were married on Aug. 28, 1971, sharing 45 years together as soul-mates. They bought their first new home in Parma, Idaho then moved to a small farm in Adrian, Oregon, their final residence.
Joe and Pam raised their 3 daughters on their Adrian farm, with Pam taking great pride in the girls' education, interests, and achievements while performing the role as wonderful mother, mentor, and friend.
Pam delighted in being a grandmother, "Mammy," to her 5 grandkids. She doted on her grandchildren, caring for them, attending sporting and academic events, and creating special gifts.
She was an amazing florist, artist, seamstress, and gardener, always creating beauty and appreciating antiques. She had careers in healthcare (including monitor technician), education, and, most notably, floral design.
As a strong Christian, Pam lived her values and instilled them in her daughters and grandchildren. She was a member of Sterry Memorial Church in Roswell, Idaho where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching, decorating, and serving as deacon.
Pam will be missed by her husband, Joseph; her children Amy Olenik (Jerry Loughrey), Carrie Smith (Christopher), Emily Mateer (Jason); grandchildren Caleb and Olivia Smith; Patience, Mary, and Joe Mateer; sister Nancy Hopkins (Thomas); brother Russell Roberts (Patty); step-mother Betty Roberts; aunt Thelma Church, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Bradley Roberts.
The funeral will be held at Sterry Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Roswell, Idaho 28531 Hwy 18 on June 17th at 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Sterry Memorial Music and Worship Fund.
