Parry Deloss Harrison
February 11, 1930 - May 25, 2017
Parry Deloss Harrison, 87, of Caldwell/Marsing area passed on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Parry was born 2/11/30 in Malad, ID to Parry Dredge Harrison & Laura Bell Wells, the 2nd of 8 children. He passed away peacefully May 25, 2017 with his family by his side.
Parry graduated from Malad High School in 1948 and Brigham Young University in 1958 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked 33 years for the Bureau of Reclamation, retiring in 1987 after 10 yrs. as the Regional Hydrologist for the Pacific NW Region.
In 1954 he married Gertrude Leona Ihle (Trudy) in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they adopted 4 children.
Parry served 3 missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: South Africa (1950-52); with Trudy to South Africa (1988-89); and with Trudy to Salt Lake City Utah (1999-2000) as the Asst. Construction Manager on the LDS Conference Center. His leadership positions in the Church included Bishop, High Counselor, Counselor in the Stake Presidency, and Patriarch among many others.
Parry was active in Scouting, serving as Scout Master, District Commissioner, Council Commissioner, and member of the Executive Board for the Ore-Ida Council.
Parry is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Edwin E. Harrison, James W. Harrison, Lawrence J. Harrison, and sisters: Laura Fisher and Emma Orwin and B's-I-L, Roger Fisher, Ward Orwin, and Eldon Smith. He is survived by his wife Trudy, children Vikie (John) Chandler, Ken Harrison, Sheila Erichson, and Ron Harrison, 4 grandchildren: Jason (Lisa), Brendon (Roseanna), Tyler (Jessica), and Krystal (Nicholas), sisters: Eldena Smith, Rose Ann (Sheldon) Elicker and 13 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the LDS Church (215 3rd Ave West) Marsing LDS Chapel from 9:30-10:45AM. Parry's Funeral Service with Military Honors will begin on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences may be given at
