Richard A. Kirkness
November 18, 1931 - May 20, 2017
Rich, 85, of Nampa, was born in Rochester, MN, on November 18, 1931 and passed away May 20, 2017, peacefully at home.
He served in the Korean War for two years and was proud to be a Marine.
Rich and Marilyn were married in 1953 and they had four children. In 1965 the family moved to Nampa where he would manage a Tempo store at the new Karcher Mall. He later went on to own/operate Valley Marine/Suzuki. He enjoyed camping, fishing and boating at the many Idaho lakes.
He received his pilot's license in 1965 and soon after, his commercial license. His love of flying led him to do some aerial photography in his later years.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughters Lori (Joe) Lutz, Kim (Troy) Tapp, son Terry, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Wayne.
Services will be held Wednesday May 31st at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8. So. Midland, Nampa.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, of which he was a member for 52 years.
