Robert "Bob" Machos
May 3, 1936 - January 29, 2016
Bob peacefully passed away on January 29th at home surrounded by the people he loved.
Robert "Bob" Machos was born on May 3, 1936 in Nampa, Idaho to Edwin and Lula Machos. Bob was the baby of the family joining his older brother, Don and sister, Norene. Bob grew up in Nampa and attended Catholic school before attending Nampa High School where he was known for being the Horseshoe Champion! He earned his diploma and graduated in 1954. Staff Sergeant Robert D Machos honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Bob married Neomia Post at Saint Paul's in Nampa, Idaho on November 11, 1956. Bob and Neomia welcomed their first child, Mike, on December 11, 1961. Mike was then joined by a baby sister, Gail, on Feb 10, 1963. The family then moved out to Kuna, Idaho where they resided for over 30 years before returning to Nampa to enjoy retirement. Bob worked for Univar (formerly Van Waters & Rodger's) for 30+ years as a Sales Manager.
While enjoying the small town life in Kuna, Bob was an active member of the Kuna Lions Club for 10+ years. He also loved coaching Mike and the other boys' little league team for many years.
Bob loved to fish and be in the mountains! Bob and Neomia passed this love down to their children, spending nearly every family vacation camping! The joy of camping continued far into retirement for Bob and Neomia as they enjoyed and spent a great deal of time camping in their motorhome.
Bob had an amazing gift for woodworking. This was evident by the tremendous craftsmanship displayed in his work. He would spend hours on end out in his shop. If he wasn't camping, we knew where to find him!
Bob and Neomia spent the last many years playing hours of cards with their wonderful friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lula; and by his brother, Don. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Neomia; his sister, Norene Daniels (Jim) of Nampa; two children, Mike Machos (Whitney) of Nampa and Gail Machos (Keith McIndoo) of Boise; and 6 grandchildren, JW Hartwick of Boise, Amanda Machos of Kuna, Ryan Machos (Kinsey) of Star, Cody Machos of Nampa, Nicole Smith (Shayne) of Caldwell, and Tara Foster (Sean) of Boise. He will also be greatly missed by 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed each and every day.
The family would like to thank Signature Hospice for allowing Bob to spend his final days at home, comfortable, with his family. If you would like to make a donation in Bob's name please do so to Signature Hospice, Nampa, Idaho.
Viewing will be Tuesday, February 2 from 6pm-8pm at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3 at 2pm at Alsip and Persons, followed by a graveside committal at Kuna Cemetery.
