Robert C. Murphy Jr
February 5, 1950 - August 8, 2015
Surrounded by the love of his family, Robert C. Murphy Jr, age 65 of Nampa, Idaho passed away Saturday, August 8th. Robert "Murph" Murphy, was born February 5th, 1950, in Richland, WA. to parents Robert Cyril Murphy Sr. and Agnes Amelia Van Anne-Murphy. Murph deeply touched everyone he came into contact with. He had a heart of gold and effortlessly built life long bonds and made strong impacts on all of our lives, both family and even strangers. Murph touched everyone who knew him with his affection and passion for life. He loved baseball, music and skiing, but especially cars. We will deeply miss him. We are all better for having known him.
Robert "Murph" Murphy served as a Sgt. in the US Army, then he studied at Boise State University. He went onto work as a conductor at the Union Pacific Railroad from which he retired.
Murph is survived by his wife, Margaret "Jean" Porraz-Murphy of Nampa, ID; three sons, Bennie Porraz of Nampa, ID, Joseph Porraz of Nampa, ID and Sean Murphy of Meridian, ID; daughter, Christine Murphy-Mellegaard of Herriman, UT; Sisters, Mary Murphy-Johnson of Kent, WA., and Eileen Murphy-Fitch of Richland, WA., 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Aggie; Aunt Rita Murphy and brother, Patrick Murphy of Richland, WA.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 11th, 2015, between 6 and 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 12, 2015, 2:00 p.m. both at Dakan Funeral Chapel, 504 S. Kimball Ave., Caldwell, Idaho. A Memorial service will be held at Gate City Christian Church, 202 W. Siphon Rd., Pocatello, ID., Sunday, August 16th, 2015, 6:00 p.m. Condolences may be shared with the family at
