Robert (Bob) L. Thompson

Robert (Bob) L. Thompson, 90, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at a care facility in Meridian. Services are pending for a later date in the Spring. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
Bob was born October 7, 1926 in Bozeman, MT to Lester and Bessie Thompson. He grew up as the youngest of eight children on his father's ranch in Bozeman.
After attending Montana State for three months, Bob left to enter the Armed Forces in January, 1945. After serving his country proudly, he returned to Bozeman, where he finished his schooling at Montana State.
Bob met and married the love of his life, Joy C. Chase, in 1950. Bob & Joy lived on their farm outside of Bozeman raising their five children. In 1967 Bob & Joy moved their family to Caldwell when he became the Manager of the Federal Land Bank from which he later retired.
Bob is survived by his five children; daughters, Beth Thompson of Missoula and Debbie Thompson of Boise; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jim Carr of Nampa; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Leslie Thompson of Boise and Ron and Kim Thompson of Holt, MO; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joy C Thompson; parents, Lester and Bessie Thompson; five brothers, Howard, Don, Alvin, Mason and Herbert Thompson; and his two sisters, Eula Wing and Hazel Thompson.
