Robert Eugene Wennstrom
October 15, 1947 - September 3, 2016
Robert "Bob" Eugene Wennstrom, 68, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed away, early Saturday morning, September 3, 2016 at West Valley Medical Center due a number of health issues and an unexpected and rapid growth of cancer. A special thank you to Michelle (Escalante) Widner for her loving care and support throughout the years.
Bob's graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 9 at Canyon Hill Cemetery at 2024 N. Illinois Ave., Caldwell, Idaho, 83606, his son-in-law, Dion Zimmerman will be officiating. Following the service a wake will be held at Kerry and Mollie Smith's, 11292 Iowa Ave., Nampa, Idaho, 83686, Bob's son, Jason Wennstrom, will lead this celebration of life.
Bob was born in Ontario, Oregon at Holy Rosary Medical Center on October 15, 1947 to Don and Elaine (Beckvold) Wennstrom. He graduated from Boise High School in 1966 and then attended the University of Idaho 1966-1967 and then attended Boise State University 1967-1968. On June 13, 1967 he married Tricia (Mattson) Wennstrom, Florence, residing in Caldwell. Bob had a deep love for his friends and family. With his early retirement from his father's grocery business he was able to spend time with those he cared about. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and hunting for various game, morels or rocks, depending on the season. He would never admit to this, but he was a master of billiards, horseshoe, poker, and in his prime he could waterski barefoot with grace.
Bob is survived by two daughters and one son, Dawn (Wennstrom) Zimmerman and Dion Zimmerman of Weiser, ID, Amber Wennstrom and Travis Hurd of Caldwell, ID, and Jason and Jana (McReynolds) Wennstrom; three grandchildren, Clayton Zimmerman and Grace Zimmerman of Weiser, ID and Carson George Hurd of Caldwell, ID; his sister, Karen (Wennstrom) Arguinchona and Larry Arguinchona of Boise, ID, two nieces and one nephew, Teresa (Arguinchona) and Nick Baptista of Boise, ID, Daniel Arguinchona, and Nichole Arguinchona of Boise, ID, and his former wife Tricia Florence and Ed Florence of Sandpoint, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Elaine, and his nephew Tony Arguinchona.
