Ruth Elenor Piper
November 25, 1917 - January 3, 2017
Ruth Piper 99 of Caldwell ID went to the Lord peacefully of natural causes on Jan 3, 2017 with family by her side.
Ruth was born on Nov. 25, 1917 in Dewey OKL to James and Minnie McClellan.
Ruth spent her youth growing up in the Midwest with family and
friends.
Ruth married Carl Baker in Salem ARK on May 16, 1934.
Ruth and Carl settled in Missouri after marriage in which they had three lovely daughters(Ina, Uva and Lillian Faye).
Ruth was a loving and hard working wife and mother; raising
the three daughters, keeping a household and other jobs and chores that were needed for them to make a life in the era of the
Great Depression and Dust Bowl during the 1930's.
Ruth and Carl decided to move out of the Midwest, moving West to Nevada; where they had their fourth lovely daughter Edna. A few years later they decided to move to Idaho (Caldwell area) where she has resided ever since. Once her daughters grew up she decided to follow her calling and became a Nurse in 1958. She worked at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital for over 20 years.
She lost her husband of 27 years to an unexpected death on Nov 21, 1961.
She married Andrew Piper, a long time family friend on June 15, 1967. Once the both retired they loved to travel, sometimes planned or spur of the moment; whether it be sights or family.
She lost Andy Oct 18, 2001
She enjoyed quilting (sure every family member has at least 1 or 2). She also loved going to orchards and get fruit and then can them. Her biggest passion was family and devotion Seventh-Day Adventist Church where her and Andy were long time members.
Her bright eyes, smile and laughter just made her so cute and lovable which will be greatly missed.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Ina Kolsky of Cascade, ID and Uva Berry of Walla Walla WA.: 3 step-sons, Marvin Piper, Delbert Piper, and Dale Piper along with 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Carl, second husband Andy, Two daughters Faye and Edna, 2 brothers James and Llloyd and sister Ina.
A celebration of Life will be held this summer in Cascade.
