Sherrill Arlene Murphy
October 11, 1944 - September 5, 2013
Sherrill Murphy, 68 years of age, of Marsing, Idaho, was called to Jesus and granted her angels' wings on the morning of Thursday, September 5th, 2013.
Sherrill began her life on October 11th, 1944 as the daughter to William and Marjorie Loring of Caldwell Idaho.
She is survived by her beloved husband and soul-mate of 34 years, James G. Murphy, her mother Marjorie Loring, her brother Vern Loring, her daughter Chrystina King-Smith, her two sons, Todd King and Gabe Murphy, her step-daughter Kris Burnett, her grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.
After graduating from South Kitsap high school in Port Orchard, WA in 1962, Sherrill's passion for helping people led her to serve in the Medical industry at multiple hospitals such as Virginia Mason, Providence, Caldwell Memorial and Mercy Medical.
Sherrill's love for her family blossomed when she gave birth to her first-born Chrystina, to follow by her second-born Todd. In 1976 she moved with her children to Idaho where she met her soul mate Jim in 1978. They were married in March of 1979 at Caldwell Assembly of God "The Domes". After giving birth to her son Gabe, Sherrill and Jim moved their family to Alaska where her love for the outdoors would continue and flourish. The wonderful Alaskan memories of Sherrill include; Salmon and Halibut fishing, digging for clams, and long drive's observing nature.
Although Sherrill lived throughout the Northwest, her heart always remained in Idaho. Because of her tremendous passion for raising animals, Sherrill and Jim established a small farm in South Nampa where she cared for her horses, cows, chickens, ducks, and her beloved cats and dachshunds. Sherrill was also heavily involved with her church, which called her to travel and assist with International ministries.
In her final years Sherrill spent fulfilling her dream of creating a loving home for her family on the Snake River. There she spent her days enjoying the sun as she created an amazing garden and landscape. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her wonderful sense of humor, and the tremendous love she had for her family. Sherrill is loved greatly and will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, 11:00am at Meridian Assembly of God, located at 1830 N Linder Rd Meridian, ID 83646. Reception to follow.
