Sterling Lester Daniels
July, 25, 1931 - October 1, 2016
Sterling L. Daniels passed away at his home Saturday morning, October 1st, 2016, at the age of 85. Our Dad was born in American Falls, Idaho on July 25, 1931 to Bill and Ella Mae Daniels. The family moved to Meridian, Idaho in 1936. In December of 1942, they loaded up the old iron wheel wagon and made their way to the 80-acre farm on Lower Pleasant Ridge Road in Caldwell, walking most of the way. Dad continued to live and work on this property continuously until his passing. Our family will forever revel in the memories of the childhood summers, the Christmas Eve parties and the love we shared together on the farm.
Dad went to school at Pleasant Ridge in Caldwell. He married Eunice Lewis on November 27, 1954 and became an instant family with four children, aged 2, 3, 4, and 5. Two years later they were blessed with child #5, the final addition to the family. Dad spent many years working for Galey and Beck Construction as a master carpenter and job superintendent. Mom passed away in 2004. Two years later Dad married Shirley Boston and gained two more daughters. They shared ten wonderful, laughter-filled years together.
Dad is survived by his wife Shirley, brother Ron (Eileen) Daniels, sister Donna (Steve) Meyers; his children Sherrie (Vee), Debbie (Greg), Don (Lori), Bill, Sonnie (Dave), Terri (Kevin), Stacia (Dennis), 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Ella Mae Daniels, granddaughter Shelley Compton and grandson Shane Compton.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wolf for his amazing surgical skills; the second floor nursing staff at West Valley Hospital and St. Alphonsus Hospice - especially Karen and Trina.
Services will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel Caldwell, Idaho on Friday October 7th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the service. There will be a reception for family and friends directly after the service at Deer Flat Free Methodist Church in Caldwell, Idaho. No graveside service will be held.
