Susan K. (Van Auker) Bowdle, 68, of Soap Lake, Washington died December 26 in Spokane, Washington.
Susan was born January 10, 1945 to Mary J. & Robert W. (Van) Van Auker in Billings, Montana.
Susan spent her early years in Billings, Ferndale, California, Coos Bay, Oregon & Kalispell, Montana. She moved with her family to Caldwell, Idaho in 1956 and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1963. She attended Eastern Oregon College in La Grande, Oregon. Susan also attended Cunard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California. Susan returned to La Grande, Oregon to finish her degree.
Susan met her soul mate, Ralph E Bowdle while attending Eastern Oregon College. Susan & Ralph were married October 16, 1967 in Caldwell, Idaho. They made their home in La Grande, Oregon where Ralph operated the Chevron Gas Station & Ralph's Repair. They had 1 son, David, born on July 12, 1976. In 1997 they moved to Soap Lake, Washington.
Susan was a wonderful mother & wife. She had many talents; oil painting, sewing, cooking & crafts of any kind. She helped Ralph in his business, keeping the accounting. A lady of many talents.
Susan became the mother of many of David's friends, making her home one that all were welcome. No one was a stranger to her.
Susan was preceded in death by her father Van in 1969, her mother Mary in 1980, 1 sister at birth & her son David in 2011.
Survivors include her husband Ralph & 1 brother Ronald W. Van Auker (Jane) of Eagle, Idaho.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
