Teresa N. Roberts
October 16, 1952 - July 9, 2013
Teresa Roberts, 60, of Caldwell, Idaho died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at home with her family, after a two-year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Caldwell on October 16, 1952, the second of five children to Roberta Svendsen (Lamb) and Russell Roberts. She studied literature and poetry at the University of Houston in 1972. In 1976, she married Vern Cobb and had two daughters, Amanda and Tiffany (d. 1989), for whom she provided a home full of love, music, learning and creativity. In 1993, she embarked upon a new journey, becoming a rural postal carrier with the United States Postal Service, where she worked until her death, and devoting her love to Mark Todd (Caldwell), with whom she spent the last 20 years of her life, and whom she married in 2003.
Teresa loved music, a good story, her garden, dancing, Scrabble, and Pinochle; she had an eye for beauty, and created a home paradise of flowers, color, and collected treasures. However, her first love was her family, with whom would share anything. She considered her friends, including those at the USPS and those on her mail route, as part of her family. People could expect to receive from Teresa a dazzling smile, good advice, empathy, a laugh, or a shoulder to cry on. She was often thinking about how to make the lives of others easier, more beautiful, and special in some way, and she was known to go without so that those she loved never wanted for something indulgent. She was a strong, classy and intelligent woman with the kind of insight and eloquence that left others richer just for having known her.
Teresa is survived by her parents, siblings, her husband, and her daughter. No services will be held but a private gathering of family and close friends is scheduled for July 13. Cremation is under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
