Troy Ormond Howell
1/6/1970 - 3/27/2013
I, Troy Ormond Howell was born in the Emmett Hospital, Jan 6, 1970 to Ormond & Cheryl (Wilson) Howell who lived in Payette, ID. In my youth, I lived in Meridian, ID and E. Oregon. Being the 3rd of 6 children, my siblings and I had a lot of fun in the outdoors and enjoyed many happy memories in our youth. We moved back home to the Treasure Valley at the start of my freshman year, to Middleton where I attended high school and gained many great and lasting friendships. I participated in sports and excelled in football and track. I love to run.
After high school I chose to serve an LDS mission and had a wonderful experience in the beautiful land of Ireland. My 2 year service helped me to learn and grow. I gained a strong love for people and the Lord Jesus Christ and his Gospel. After my mission I returned home with expectations of marrying and becoming a full-time seminary teacher for the church and I attended Ricks College.
I married my wonderful wife Mary Laraine Niblett April 21, 1995 in the Boise Idaho Temple. I finished my undergraduate studies at BSU and had great experiences there, but marrying my wife was the highlight of those years. I taught LDS Seminary part-time while attending Boise State and received my BA in May, 1997. Later, I earned an MA Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction from BSU. I taught Seminary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 15 years. I loved my students and the association with my fellow Seminary Teachers.
I've always had fun in my life! I am a huge Boise State fan and love the Broncos! I thoroughly enjoyed BSU football games, hanging with my friends and family, and I've always found a way to interject humor into everything I do.
This cancer has taken much from me, but I feel I have been greatly blessed. No one could have received more enjoyment and fun out of life than I have. I want all my students to know how much I love them and loved being with them in seminary class. I know the Lord has more teaching for me to do on the other side.
I love my dear wife Mary and always will. She is a rock of faith to me and has cared for me during the most difficult times. I love my sweet children: Cheryl 16, Corbin 15, Margaret 13, and Trevor 7. I will miss them greatly, but know our family is forever. I am also survived by my siblings: Lorinda Johnson, Darin Howell, Sharena Niblett, Chene' Cram, and Tonya Lopez; and my good father, Ormond Howell as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. I was preceded in death by my mother, M. Cheryl Howell who also died of cancer and look forward to meeting her on the other side of the veil. To all who know me, God bless you and grant you the peace that I have had in my heart. A peace that only comes with an assurance and knowledge of God and His Grace.
Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - 1985 N Black Cat Rd, Meridian, ID at 1pm Friday, April 5th with a Viewing from 6 to 8pm Thursday April 4th at the same location.
