Virginia Belle Blair Worst
May 11, 1917 - February 4, 2015
Virginia Belle Blair Worst was born May 11, 1917 in Hastings, Nebraska, the youngest of three children, to Charles Blair and Emma Carter Blair. During her school years her family moved to Ashland, Ohio, where she graduated from Ashland High School. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper throughout her life. She married G. Brooks Worst on January 2, 1942. They were just shy of their 60th wedding anniversary when Brooks went home to Heaven. They are survived by their five children: Peggy Romanoski (Charles) of Las Vegas, NV, Paul Worst (Altha) of Eagle Point, OR, Janice Nelson (Victor) of Ontario, OR, Liz Salisbury (Leigh) of Nampa, ID and Debra Robertson (Ryan) of Spokane, WA. Virginia was grandmother to eight and great-grandmother to fourteen. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Rev. Charles Higgins, of Pasadena, CA.
Virginia and family moved from Ashland, OH in 1961 to Henderson, NV, to Kailua, HI in 1966, and to Nampa, ID in 1979. She and her family were faithful attenders at a Church of the Nazarene in each place they lived, and she served as pianist, organist, Sunday School teacher and other positions in each church. Into their 80s, Brooks and Virginia continued to work. While Brooks did carpentry jobs for friends and family, Virginia worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, and telemarketer. Although somewhat reserved, Virginia displayed a strength of character, sense of humor, and deep love for Jesus and her family that was evident even in her declining years. She will be missed!
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00am at Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th Avenue South, Nampa.
