William Henry "Bill" Bailey
May 26, 1929 - January 31, 2015
Bill died at home after a short illness on January 31st, 2015. A resident of Payette since 2004, Bill Bailey was born in Caldwell, Idaho in 1929 and at the age of 5 moved to Grangeville, Idaho. He graduated from Grangeville High School in 1947. Bill joined the US Navy during the Korean War and proudly served aboard the USS Mansfield. Bill returned to Idaho at the end of the war and married Diane Jenny in 1954. Bill graduated from the University of Idaho in 1957 as an Electrical Engineer. He then resumed his career with the US Navy as a Civilian Engineer at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco until his retirement in 1984. Upon retirement Bill relocated to the Grass Valley area, where he lost Diane in 1988. Bill remained in California until he and his wife, Darlene, moved to Payette. Bill was active in the Payette Nazarene Church, the Elks Club, the NRA, VFW and the American Legion.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, all siblings and wife Diane.
Bill is survived by his wife Darlene, son John, daughters Kris, Patti, Cathi, daughter-in-law Sharon, granddaughters Nicole and Michelle, great-grandchildren Taryn and Bryce, stepdaughters Kellie and Loree, stepsons Steven and Daniel, 12 stepgrandkids and great-grandkids, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, sister- and brother-in-laws and friends who will all greatly miss his warm and generous heart and loving and kind spirit.
Services are to be held on Thursday February 12th 2015 at the Payette Nazarene Church - 1980 7th Avenue North, Payette, Idaho.
