William Norville "Norv" Hinds
March 30, 1938 - May 29, 2015
William Norville 'Norv' Hinds, 77, decided that 'enough was enough' with cancer. On May 29, 2015, he went from home to a place where good books are plentiful, beverages are ever-flowing, good company is everlasting, and a motorcycle trip no longer requires permission from his wife.
He bade 'see ya later' to his wife of 31 years, Jackie of Caldwell, Idaho; his daughter, Andrea (Jason) Kennedy, of Livonia, MI; step-daughter Ginny D'Amico of Meridian, ID; step-son Michael D'Amico, and three grandchildren, of Winchester, VA; brother Russ Hinds of Caldwell, ID; sister Dolores Johnson, of Salem, OR; as well as a 'grundle' of extended family and an abundance of close friends.
He has reunited with his parents, Kathleen E. and Norvil T. Hinds and sister, LaDonna Brothers.
Norv was a Caldwell native, born March 30, 1938, the third of four children. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1956 and served eight years in the Idaho National Guard. He worked for 20 years at Caxton Printers Limited in Caldwell, was a partner at a motorcycle dealership, traveled the country as a long haul trucker, and worked as a security officer for the State of Idaho Insurance Fund. He was also a long-time member of the Caldwell Elk's Lodge.
Norv loved the outdoors and the indoors with equal fervor. Camping, motorcycles, aircraft, boats, and shooting were passions of his, as well as books of all kinds, video games, and quiet evenings spent at home with his family.
The family wishes to thank Progressive Nursing Staff PRN, Inc., and Heart and Home Hospice and Palliative Care, LLC, for their excellent care.
