On the morning of August 8, 2016, Audrey passed away after a seven-year battle with leukemia while being comforted by her husband at her home in Homedale, Idaho. Audrey was 28 years old.
Audrey was born at Darnall Army Hospital, Fort Hood, Texas on November 21, 1987. She was the first child of Lesa Anne and Jeffrey Scott Folwell. She was the older sister to her sister Cammi and brother Brian.
Audrey was a wonderful child who was always willing to please others. She worked hard to befriend everyone she met. Audrey attended school at Vallivue Schools in Caldwell, Idaho. She enjoyed any activity that would let her spend time with friends. Her Soccer team nicknamed her "Noodle" because she was so skinny and flexible. She had a unique prancing throw-in that entertained everyone who saw her. Audrey loved to sing and was excited to be in the school Choir. Audrey graduated from Vallivue High School in 2006.
Audrey attended Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho and majored in Elementary Education. She also enjoyed numerous dance classes and performing arts. During the first summer break from school she traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia and spent four months teaching English to pre-school students. She made numerous new friends and was able to visit several other countries during this trip. One of her fondest memories was attending a ballet at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, Russia.
She met the love of her life, Sam Brown, during her second year at BYU. That summer she spent four months teaching grade school in Tehuacan, Mexico. Audrey accepted Sam's marriage proposal upon her return from Mexico. She was married and sealed for time and all eternity to Sam in the Boise, Idaho LDS Temple on February 7, 2009.
Audrey was so excited to be a mother, and was excited to announce her pregnancy in May of 2009. During a routine blood test beginning her third trimester of pregnancy in November 2009, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She immediately started chemotherapy. Her beautiful baby daughter Violet was born healthy two months later on January 7, 2010.
Over the course of the next six years Audrey endured full body radiation, chemotherapy, numerous extremely painful bone marrow biopsies, two stem cell transplants and countless other medical procedures. She was in remission several times, but the cancer kept coming back.
Audrey's hopes and dreams were derailed numerous times over the past six years. Yet she had the ability to keep everything in perspective and trust in the Lord. Audrey always had a smile and cheerful greeting for everyone she met regardless of how she was feeling.
Audrey's pride and joy were her husband and daughter. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked to fulfill her mission as a disciple of Christ and for her family life to be centered on the teachings of Christ. She also found time to support numerous activities for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Sam; daughter, Violet; parents, Jeff and Lesa Folwell; sister, Cammille (Steven) Meitler; brother, Brian (Jacqueline) Folwell; grandparents, Gary and Marilynn Folwell, Judith Morgan, Robert Brown, and James Bradley. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive her.
Services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Homedale, Idaho at 10:30 AM with a viewing starting at 9:00 AM. A short graveside service will be held at the Horseshoe Bend Pioneer Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at www.youcaring.com/fightingforaudreytwo. Audrey asked that we extend a special thanks to all of her friends, family, Church members and the community for their kind words, prayers and support throughout her trials. She also wanted to extend a special thanks to her Doctors and the medical staff on 4 South, St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Boise, Idaho. She thought of all of you as her family.
