Lester 'Les' Monroe LeVels
POCATELLO - Lester "Les" Monroe LeVels, age 56, our beloved husband, brother and friend left our world April 1, 2010. Les finally lost his battle with a longtime illness.
Les was born to Emil and Elaine (Diggie) LeVels on July 27, 1953, in Pocatello, Idaho where he spent his growing-up years. In his younger years, Les loved and played sports. He played football and basketball for Poky High School and went on to play football at San Jose State and played semi-pro football in California.
Les loved life and his soft jazz. He also loved to watch Sunday football, the Super Bowl and professional basketball on TV and in person.
Les lived a good life, living exactly as he wanted. He loved fishing and long drives.
Les is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Banks) LeVels of Pocatello, Idaho; brother, Robert (Dorthy) LeVels of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, April (Tom) Hernadez of Inkom, and Sammy and Steff LeVels of Salt Lake City, Utah; niece, Bea Vega and family of Pocatello and Johnell Lovejoy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nephews, Theodore Jackson of Fort Hall, Nokie Vega, Carlos Vega, Charlie Blueback, Mac Blueback, Monte Lovejoy of Florida; aunt, Ramona Whitworth of Fort Hall; and many great-nieces and nephews and relatives and close friends. Les was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene Diggie, Lillian Graham, Lilly McCullary, his parents, Elaine and Emil LeVels, sisters, Madelyn Lovejoy, Loretta Grant Suzy LeVels, Erma LeVels, Rebecca Edmo, brother, Leland Buck Edmo, Charlie and Harold Edmo, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home, and also one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday. Burial will follow the funeral service at Mountain View Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.Colonial-FuneralHome.com.

When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. I pulled out all my PHS annuals and celebrated the Les I knew back in 1972. Time stood still for me for a moment. Les and I share a lot of very good times and some bad but we always thought of each other as brother's I am deeply saden by his passing but I know he has found peace where he is at now may he rest in peace & god bless.
