CHUBBUCK - Richard "Rick" A. Dominguez, 55, passed away late Sunday evening July 4th, 2010 at his home in Chubbuck.
He was born on February 24th, 1955 in Pocatello, ID. He was born to John and Josephine (Romo) Dominguez. He is one of seven children. Survived by Phil Dominguez (Sharon), Connie (Robert) Doty, Rose Dominguez, Shirley Reid, and Jon (Connie) Dominguez. Rick is also survived by his sons, Jesse James Dominguez (Pocatello), Ryan Schaaff (Pocatello), Scott Dominguez (Soda Springs), Anthony Dominguez (Soda Springs), Paul Zamaro (Pocatello), and Donovon Pannell (Las Vegas), and daughter Lacey Pannell (Pocatello). He is also survived by three grandchildren. He was loved by many other family members.
Rick was proceeded in death by his loving parents, John and Josephine Dominguez and his sister Diane Dominguez Bosquez.
He attended Pocatello High School and Vespa High School in Blue Ridge GA where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. After high school he was offered a full football scholarship to Georgia Tech.
Rick worked construction and was a very talented painter for many years.
Rick enjoyed and participated in many activities at the Friendship Club and made many close friends. He loved the outdoors and fishing with his son, Jesse, brother, Jon, and nephew, Tony. He was avidly involved with sporting activities within the community. He was a coach and mentor to many young men. He coached for the South East Idaho Football League for seventeen years and touched the lives of many young athletes who will always remember him as "Coach Rick". He coached a winning national football team to the national championship in Las Vegas. Rick was involved in Bannock Boys Baseball and Pocatello Parks and Recreation Basketball League for many years.
Rick will be missed by all he touched and will be remembered for his outstanding coaching abilities and the "love of the game".
Until we meet again father, brother, uncle and coach.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 10th, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N 15th Ave., Pocatello. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
