Sandra Mullenix
May 11, 1933 - November 27, 2013
Sandra "Sandy" Mullenix , age 80, of Chubbuck, Idaho, while surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Sandra was born May 11, 1933 in Oakley, Idaho to Marsh and Wanda Hollingsworth.
She was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and attended Pocatello High School. Later during the Korean War, Sandra joined the US Air force where she met and married William (Bill) Mullenix, the love of her life, and partner for the next 61 years.
Sandra and Bill then moved to various cities in California (Fontana and Eagle Mountain) where Sandra started her own bookkeeping service outside of Eagle Mountain in Blythe, California. Sandra later moved back to her home town of Pocatello to work for Kraft Foods as a purchasing agent until her retirement.
Sandra was very talented. She loved to sew, quilt, oil paint, crochet and knit. She was an active member of the LDS Church and would consistently help with creating community quilts for those in need.
Sandra was also involved in the foster care program where she enjoyed taking several foster children into her home.
She also enjoyed the ten years raising two of her wonderful grandchildren, Carrie and Chris Mullenix. (of Piedmont and Rapid City, South Dakota)
Sandra was an active volunteer and member at the Pocatello Senior Citizens' Center.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband, William Mullenix, son Johnnie Mullenix of Chubbuck, daughter Julie Crow (Richard) of Dallas, OR, daughter Rhonda Kegerreis of Pocatello, daughter Tamara Kemp (Paul) of La Quinta, CA, daughter Tina Jones of Pocatello and son Thomas Mullenix of Salt Lake City, UT. 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren also survive Sandra.
Sandra is also survived by her siblings sister Marre' Chamberlain (Von Del) of Kanab, UT, brother Dirk Hollingsworth (Kriss) of Idaho Falls, Sister Sherri McInelly (Richard) of Spring, Texas, and Brad Hollingsworth (Debra), of Pocatello.
She was preceded in death by; her parents Marsh and Wanda Hollingsworth and her brother Tylon Hollingsworth.
Graveside memorial services with military rites will be held 11:00 A.M. December 28th with a celebration of life open house immediately following at the Mullenix home in Chubbuck, 4727 Chateau St.
