Dean Edward Waldram Obituary
Dean Edward Waldram
Dean Edward Waldram was born July 7, 1935 in Boise to Albert and Wanda Waldram. He passed away in the early morning hours on April 10, 2018 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise.
Dean attended North Jr. High, Boise High and graduated from Boise Jr. College. He married his loving wife, Jacquelyn Denney in 1957. They raised four children and have 13 grandchildren. Dean was employed by the Air National Guard for 13 years, switched his career to industrial sales and retired as a sales manager.
Dean was a devoted father and grandfather and kept busy attending the kids' sports activities and events. He strove to pass his love of the outdoors to his children and grandchildren through their annual family camping trips.
He loved Idaho and its mountains. He cherished time camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and skiing. He looked forward to gatherings with his three siblings and their spouses visiting and playing cards. He and Jackie cherish their lifelong friends Sylvia and Leighton Marker. Their friendship spans over 60 years while raising their families and dogs, camping, exploring the back country, watching BSU football games, traveling and flying in Leighton's experimental aircraft.
He was a longtime member of Red Rock Christian Church in Boise where he held several volunteer positions including property manager where he enjoyed showcasing his handyman skills. He was involved in the Boy Scouts as a youth, Masons, Jaycees and Elks. He kept active with his swim class buddies at the YMCA.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and Albert Waldram. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie, their children Teresa McDonald, Shelly Hawkins (Jay), Mark Waldram and Tracey Greenlee (Greg); his grandchildren Mari Holm (James), Nick McDonald (fiancé Stacie), Blake McDonald (Liberty), Cameron Bergquist, Madison Gates, Deni and Tim Hawkins, Scott Waldram (fiancé Kristina), and Hannah, Gibson and Lucas Greenlee; great grandchildren Jacob Holm and Decklin Wade. He was the oldest of his surviving siblings Dick Waldram (Edna), Clarine Hastriter (John), Russ Waldram (Kris); and extended family and friends. Glory, his sweet dog, brought him comfort and joy the last few years.
Special thanks for the compassionate care of the St. Al's ER staff and nurses on 8 Central, and the many doctors who treated him over the years. He was a tough man and had a strong will to battle all his heath issues. He never gave up or stopped smiling or cracking jokes. The effects of cancer over 25 years and other chronic health issues contributed to his sudden passing. Dean's large group of loved ones rallied around him and prayed for him the evening before his passing. He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, May 25th at Red Rock Christian Church in Boise (time pending). A private graveside gathering at Cloverdale Cemetery will take place in April. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dean's name to his Church to help fund the summer camp expenses for its' youth members.
