Feild Pogue 1929-2012 Our sweet Dad passed peacefully at home Oct. 2, 2012. Born June 9, 1929 at his family home to Robert Herman and Edna Pogue in Burnet, Texas. Eight years later his beloved sister, Charlotte joined them. Pud, as his family fondly called him graduated from Burnet High School. After High School he and his best friend, Thomas Hullum, attended Barber School then set up shop in their hometown where to this day Thomas is the only Barber in town! Never forgetting his Texas roots, he and his small family moved to Boise in 1955. He worked several years for Harris Bros. Lumber Co. and later worked and retired from Brian C. Rambo Crushing Co. where he was foreman for many years. During the 1960's Dad was a hard working man and a courageous father raising three children on his own. He became a wonderful cook and was well known for his Pineapple Upside Down Cake! Dad married Evelyn Holcomb and in 1986 they bought the Haven Lodge in Lowman, Idaho with Dale and Karen Holcomb. They all fell in love with the community and were very successful until the forest fire of 1989 which devastated the Lodge and their home. Dad loved to hunt and fish. One of his favorite "fishing holes" was Deadwood Reservoir. Many Septembers were spent at Deadwood catching Kokanee. Years after the fire Dad was able to return to his "heaven on earth", purchasing a cabin on the Payette River in Lowman, where he retired to enjoy the great outdoors with many friends. He is survived by wife Evelyn, sister Charlotte Pate, sons Ken (Cheryl), Bob (Rebecca) and daughter Kathy Geach (Joseph), stepson Dale, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Our Dad was a man of few words but a friend to many. Although he didn't say alot you always knew he felt deeply. You could see a twinkle in his eyes. His quiet demeanor and love will be immensely missed. In respect to his wishes, there will be no service.
