Jerry, a resident of Boise, died peacefully at the VA Hospital. He is survived by three brothers, Donald Pigg, Robert Pigg and Theodore Pigg, two sisters, Helen Keeton and Dora Riggs, two sons, Hal of San Diego and John of Hamilton GA, and seven grandchildren, Brice, Carla, Levi, Robert, Mary, Angie and Jackson. Jerry was born to William T. Pigg and Eloise C. Pigg (Lough) in Boise. He is preceded in death by one brother, William Pigg and two sisters, Ann Horner and Bethel Gish. Jerry served four years in the Navy from 15 SEP 1954. He went to RTC San Diego for basic training. He was stationed on U.S.S. Eversole (DD-789), and then on U.S.S. John R. Craig (DD-885). While on John R. Craig he witnessed nuclear testing and received the CHINA SERVICE MEDAL. He was honorably discharged 17 DEC 1958. Jerry was an avid fisherman who loved to take his sons to the more primitive regions of the Middle Fork and North Fork of the Boise River. He attended Boise State College where he earned his GED. He worked as a carpenter and as security for Idaho Power. He was beloved by his entire family and was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held February 7th at the VA Cemetery at 10 am.
