Nellie Fulton Obituary
Nellie Faye Fulton
September 16, 1922 ~ May 11, 2018
Nellie Faye (DeMasters) Fulton was born on September 16, 1922, in Emmett, Idaho to Joseph Benjamin and Nellie Flora (Badley) DeMasters. She was raised on a cattle ranch out of Sweet, Idaho, along with two sisters and two brothers. Nellie has said "I went to a one-room school till I was in seventh grade. We rode horses or walked the four miles and it was a fun time." Then seventh and eighth grades were in Sweet and her high school years (and graduation) were in Emmett. In June 1940 she married Hugh L. Fulton and they had four boys (one, Harry Clinton, was lost in an accident during to his freshman year of high school). Nellie and her family did spend a couple of years in Bremerton, Washington, when her husband was working in the ship yards, but they moved back to Emmett when he shipped out with the Navy. After the war and upon Hugh's discharge, they moved to Donnelly. They lived there for 21 years and (leaving many friends behind) they then moved to Riggins. After her husband retired from many years in logging in 1981, Nellie and he spent several more years goldmining, fishing, and traveling. In June of this year they celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary. Both Nellie and Hugh lived 49 years in Riggins up until October, 2017, when they moved to the Apple Valley Care facility in Emmett. Nellie is survived by three sons: Alvin Benjamin (Judy), Hugh Lloyd (Ann), and Timothy Joe (Leslie); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, one son, her parents, both brothers and their spouses, both sisters and their spouses. The family would like to offer special thanks to the caregivers of Apple Valley Care facility and those of the Heart and Home Hospice group. Your care and assistance was so appreciated. If you would like to send a note to the family, you may do so at 683 N Quincannon Way, Star, ID 83669. If you want to acknowledge Nellie's passing with a donation, please do so to any animal shelter as animals were a big part of the Fulton family. Local arrangements made with the Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett.
