1954-2018
Nicanor Rodriguez, 63 yrs old, of Boise, Idaho, and passed away on January 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held on January 11, 2018 at Summers Funeral Home at Ustick Chapel at 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian, Idaho
83646. He will be laid down at his final resting place at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery after the service.
Nicanor was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to his loving mother Maria De Jesus Rodriguez, and his father Galo Rodriguez. The family moved and lived in Wilder, Idaho, He graduated from Wilder High School, and then attended BSU.
He was also married for 35 years to Suk Rodriguez, and also they have shared two children Paul Rodriguez, and Susan Burton. He enjoyed spending his time with family especially with his grandchildren Lucas Burton, and Izabel Burton. He loved to help guide his son-in-law Matthew Burton. He was part of a big family, his brothers and sisters are Elisa Puga, Rachel Spangler, Joe Rodriguez, Maria Bustillos, Jose A, Jose G, Gracie Waters, Juan Rodriguez.
The time that Nick served his country in the US army from 1979-1992, he served as a SGT; it gave him great pride and wonderful memories, and always a great conversation opener to other people. He always enjoyed talking about his army days to anybody. His medals that he received in the army included: National defense service medal, Army service ribbon, Overseas service ribbon, 2 non-commissioned officer professional development ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, 2 Army good conduct medal, Driver mechanics Badge, and M16 Rifle qualifications Badge (sharpshooter).He also had great pride for his team Notre Dame. It was one of his dream schools, and never missed a game.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories that he has shared with everyone. He will be forever missed. We were all blessed to have known a great man, husband, father, grandpa, Nicanor Rodriguez.
