Raymond William Minifie Obituary
Raymond William Minifie
1943-2018
Raymond William Minifie Sr. AKA "Animo" born November 23, 1943, passed away peacefully February 5, 2018 at St. Luke's Boise Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Dad's sister, Donna Minifie Dump from Illinois, was able to spend time with him sharing some childhood memories together. Loving his country, Dad joined the Marines in 1962 and served in Vietnam from 1964-1965, later joining the Air Force in 1966 retiring in 1983.
Dad was born in Oakland, California, where he met and married the love of his life Patricia Ann Palmer. In their 44 years of marriage together they raised 3 children; Raymond Jr., Leslie, and Traci. Our family traveled around the states usually taking us back to California. Dad's last transfer was to Mountain Home AFB, Idaho; where both he and our mom established a home. After retiring he enjoyed various jobs; ESI, Micron, and truck driving. Dad loved his faithful dog Bandit of 14 years, camping, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. Dad had a proud sense of honor for his country, being a member of the American Legion, and supported his fellow military family. He participated in several motorcycle rallies for various charities. Dad was blessed with another love, a wonderful person Shirley Duffy, their dog Daffy and Shirley's family. We also wanted to mention Mary Ellen Dean and to thank all the special people he met along his journey. With a heavy heart, we say goodbye to a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves our mom, Leslie Ann Hammer (Richard), Traci Lynn Colton along with 6 grandkids, and 7 great-grandkids. Rest in Peace.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Le Nora May Van De Veer, his Father, Donald Laddy Minifie, and his son Raymond William Minifie Jr.
