Harold Loyd Phillips
Harold Loyd Phillips, passed away of natural causes December 12, 2015, at the age of 83 in Albany, Oregon. He was born in Cleveland, Mississippi to John Wesley Phillips and Alma Morris Phillips. He was the 4th child of 8. He received his early education in Mississippi. He worked in Greenville, Mississippi at Krogers before moving to Fresco, California where he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and made it his career. He received the Good Conduct Medal and continued his education while serving. He met his wife Doris Elva Gabriel in Loveland, Colorado and of this union 3 children were born. The U.S. Air Force allowed Phil, Doris and their children to discover the world. He was stationed at California, Wyoming, Colorado, Newfoundland and Spain. After retiring from the Air Force, he returned to Colorado then moved to Idaho. He met his wife Margaret Kuchera Bergstrom in Boise, Idaho. Their final retirement landed them in Oregon where they enjoyed fishing, exploring, ocean beaches and Moe's restaurant. Both his parents, a brother, a sister, and his wife, Doris, preceded him in death. He is survived by wife, Marge; his sons, Alan (Becky), Robert (Jodie); daughter, Pam Huston; bonus children, Eric (Suzanne), Eeron (Kate), Adam (Allison), Sara (Robert) and 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18th 2015 at First Christian Church, Albany, Oregon.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
