To one of the great neighbors. Don and family lived around the corner from in Redwood City CA in the 50 's. Talk about memories for a 10yr old, playing catch in his front yard.
Sorry for the family's loss. All ways remember, 'As long as his name is spoken, he will not be forgotten.' Rest well Don wherever you are.

I am sorry to learn of the recent passing of Don Mossi, who had a wonderful career and whose baseball cards I still have. I was just getting interested in baseball as a small boy when the Indians had their marvelous 1954 season. In early 1972, in my first year as a sportswriter at the Monterey (CA) Herald, I was covering a baseball game at Pacific Grove High. Standing behind the fence in back of home plate was Don Mossi, with a camcord, taking movies of his son, Don Mossi Jr., a pretty good pitcher for Pacific Grove High. Shortly thereafter, I interviewed father and son, and it was one of the first stories that I wrote during a long newspaper career. I got a big kick out of doing the story. There are many of us who remember what a fine career Don had. RIP, Don Mossi. My sympathies to the entire Mossi family.

I had a Don Mossi baseball glove in Little League so followed him throughout his career - I actually still might have it since none of my kids or grandkids are left handed - in an indirect way he brought joy to my life and I wish the family good memories J Lonergan KCMO

My deepest sympathies to the Mossi family. In 1961 I was 10 years of age and school & baseball were my life. Mr. & Mrs. Mossi & his wife lived in my neighborhood in N.W. Detroit when I was growing up. We kids used to ride up & down his street in hopes of seeing him. Rocky Colavito was a famous slugger for the Tigers and I have a very clear memory of him coming over to pick up Mr. Mossi in a huge white Cadillac convertible with the top down. He provided a lot of joy to us youngsters when he pitched for the Detroit Tigers Baseball Club.
