Ruth Eileen (Hall) Raber 1927-2018

Together Again

Passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father on August 29, 2018 in New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover, Ohio. Born January 6, 1927 in Galion, Ohio to the late Edward Freemont and Anna Christine (Hershner) Hall.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jacob Raber with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage August 26, 2014. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Hall, Duane Hall, Frances Marion Hall and her sister, Katherine Zipf. She is survived by sister, Vera Guffy; brother, Richard Hall; children, Robert P. (Lynn) Raber, Raymond E. (Barbara) Raber, Joseph L. (Cynthia) Raber and Linda C. (Perry) Hershberger; nine grandchildren who she truly loved and enjoyed spending time with especially reading books and telling stories - Robert Jr. (Renee) Raber, Amy M. (Chris) Spanos, Jennifer (Kyle Eck) Raber, Karen (Justin) Cooke, Gregory (Samantha) Raber, Sarah (Alexis) Cup, Aaron Hershberger, Kayla Hershberger and Adam Hershberger; four great grandchildren, Brenna, Ethan, Isaac and Addison Raber. Ruth attended and graduated valedictorian from Ohio University working as a teacher before starting her family then dedicating her life to raising her four children. She enjoyed baking, gardening, bird watching, sewing, needlepoint, crewel embroidery, ceramics and knitting (knitting over 186 sweaters for children in need with guidepost sweater project). She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending many winters in Lakeland, Fla. She was very devoted to her strong faith in God, that was evident in her daily life. Special appreciation to the staff at New Dawn Health Care Center in Dover, Ohio for the loving, compassionate care that she received for the past 11 years as she was living with Alzheimers.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Reed Funeral Home CANTON CHAPEL with Rev. Dr. John States and Rev. Nelson Blount officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday September 4, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial donations can be made to Life Hope Community Church 7096 Hills and Dales Rd.
