Howard Jerome Weinstein

Howard Jerome Weinstein, age 91, passed away suddenly on July 6, 2018 at his longtime residence in Scottsdale, Arizona. Howard was born in New York City on December 25, 1926 to Betty Weinstein (nee Orless) and Leonard Weinstein, and attended Rayen High School in Youngstown, Ohio. He served in WWII with the Eighth United States Army. After the surrender of Japan he was based at GHQ in Tokyo, Japan. Howard was a graduate of Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he graduated at the age of 58.

He resided for almost 30 years in Canton, Ohio, where he operated a successful men's retail clothing store, Howard's for Men and Boys, in Massillon. In 1979 Howard moved to Phoenix where he practiced law for many years. In Canton he was a member of Temple Israel and Arrowhead Country Club, where he was an avid golfer.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Bessieanne (nee Love) originally of Canton. His first marriage, to Ruthanne Weinstein (nee Jacobson) of Canton, ended in divorce.

He is survived by sons, William (Abby Livingston) of Cos Cob, CT, Richard of Dillon Beach, CA, and Donald (Jill) of Shaker Heights, OH; grandchildren, Benjamin Weinstein, Jamie Weinstein, Tiffany (Charlie) Hicks, and Seth (Rachel) Weinstein; and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Hicks. He is also survived by nieces, Debbie (Henry) David and Ilana Weinstein, and nephew, Steven Klein.

Arrangements were with Sinai Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ. Interment was July 12, 2018 at Green Acres Memorial Park, 401 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ. Donations may be made to a .
