Sandra Smyrl Obituary
Pendleton
Sandra Lewis Smyrl, 47, wife of Dr. James Smyrl, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017, at her residence.
Born in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of James Ralph and Jerrie Wooten Lewis of Greensboro. Sandra was a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by five daughters, Chloe Morgan and husband, Dan of Boston, MA, Mikayla Peeples and husband, John of Reston, VA, Karsen Smyrl, Alysa Smyrl, and Hannah Smyrl, all of Pendleton; and two brothers, Dean Lewis of Concord, NC and Daryl Lewis of Greensboro, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, 2230 Old Greenville Highway, Pendleton, SC 29670, conducted by Dr. James Smyrl and Rev. C.W. Hicks. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Monday for viewing.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

Some of my fondest memories of Sandra were when she was my cheerleading coach in high school. She would bring Chloe to practice, and we would all have the best time. I remember she taught us this crazy cheer she did when she was in high school. It was like a song because it had three different sections that started three different times. It took us a while to learn it, but it became our favorite cheer. I will forever miss her bright smile and amazing spirit. She made anyone feel welcome with her personality. Love you, Sandra, and miss you!
