I was in total shock to return to work and learn that Billy Ball has passed. I was always glad to see him on my way out in the mornings. He always seemed to be in such a good mood when he'd greet me with "there's my favorite lady" which I knew was his friendly greeting to all the ladies at Community Hospital. Such a friendly spirit will truly be missed.

Billy, you truly will be missed. Already I have missed your smiling face and the words that I looked forward to hearing everytime I seen you..."there's my favorite lady". I will never forget how you went out of your way for me and my husband to come and see you play because I live so far away from the hospital. I will think of you often and I will smile when I do.
To Billy's family: My heart is filled with sorrow for you. You have lost a wonderful part of your family. But his memories will live forever in all our heart's. You couldn't know Billy and not have had him touch your life. He was loved by many. And after many conversations with Him, I know we will all meet Him again. And I know He is playing His music for all those who have gone before, including my Daddy. Thank you for allowing Billy to be apart of my life. God Bless You All and may the Lord shine His comfort upon you and wrap His loving arms around you.

my smile just almost went flat. But it returns some when i recall Billy shouting "Hey there young man"... to an old man like me.
Sad, a bit pained, a little empty. But i'll bounce back, i'll make a point to do that. Got something in my eye.

I first meet Billy MR.Ball 29 years ago when he was my welding teacher for 3 years in high school he was a very special teacher he taught us more than just how to weld he taught us to grow up and how to have work ethics and get by in the real world he made us all feel like we were part of something special not just a class. Even after doing my stint in the Navy whenever I ran into Mr. ball someplace it was like we had seen each other every day. People like this area rare breed and the world will be a lesser place with you gone but a better place for you having been here, and I know that my life has been blessed and is much better for the input you had in both my childhood and as an adult. God must need some beautiful music in Heaven and some one who could weld the gates to keep them up he sure picked the best man for the job. I will Miss you Mr. Ball, see you later Billy.

Billy will truly be missed. I always enjoyed talking to him on my way in to work at CHE. He was always so nice and went out of his way to say hi. He could be way across the parking lot but would give you a big wave and smile. If you were having a bad morning seeing Billy always made things brighter. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I work at Community East with Billy. He was truley a lovely man. He was always smiling. I spend my day running from unit to unit in the hospital and I would often pass Billy in the hall. He always had something nice to say with a great big grin on his face. We would pass so often he would tell me "hey your the hardest working lady in this hospital! I'm gona tell you boss you need a raise!" We would both laugh and smile!! Even when he was sick he was still smiling and sweet. He made me and I believe anyone he came in contact with feel like you were so special. My prayers go to his entire family. He must have been so very special to you as he was so very special to his family here at Community East. Billy, you have touched so many hearts your light will shine just as your smile did in these halls for years to come. I will treasure knowing you for the rest of my life. Rest in peace sweet Billy!

I was saddened to hear of Billy passing away. He was a wonderful man that always made sure he talked to me when he seen me. When I was pregnant with my last child he bought me breakfast and told me thank you for being such a good friend, then asked me when my kids were going to transfer to Lawrence Central! The last time I seen Billy he was in the cafeteria and I made sure to repay the favor by buying his breakfast that morning and I'm so glad I did! What a joyous day it must have been when he passed through those gates.his beautiful smile and music will live on..RIP Billy you are playing for the angels now.

January 18, 2013

Billy my friend, you have left a huge void that no one else can fill. I am a hospital employee and on one of Billy's first days we passed in the hall and he smiled and walked past and then turned back and said, "hey you I taught your son". We then talked about his school days and my son. I was surprised that he remembered me and there was never a day after that when our paths crossed I knew Billy would be my bright spot. I am sure Billy is an angel because all these years he practiced with that big grin and made each of us feel special. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time but take peace in knowing that Billy was loved by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed but he left a piece of himself with each us to treasure.

Billy Ball meant so much to so many. He was a brother, father, and uncle. He was a teacher and mentor for many former students. He was a co-worker and team player at Community East Hospital. His band, THE UPSETTERS, both current and past members, will miss his leadership and talent. But most of all, we ALL will miss our "friend". For me personally, he was the first person I saw every morning when I got to work. Later in the morning, he would stop by our office with that big grin and a "story" or two! But my most cherished memories are of all the evenings spent together with friends, all enjoying Billy's greatest passion...HIS MUSIC !! We all miss you Billy !! Thanks for the memories !

I want to send my condolences to Mr. Ball's family & friends. I have known Mr. Ball for almost 20 years. I had the pleasure of meeting & taking his welding shop class at Lawrence North highschool back in 1994-1997. I also work for Community East Hospital and enjoyed seeing Mr. Ball almost everyday. He was a ray of sunshine, always telling jokes and always in great spirits, even when he didn't feel well. He was always telling me his band was ready to play at my wedding, however I have yet to cross that bridge. Mr. Ball was a great man, very special to me. He will be missed greatly and i can assure you how much he is loved. May God bless you in your time of sorrow but know that he is dancing in heaven with our great Lord. God Bless, Erin Neuberger
