Elizabeth R. Adams
96, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 22, 2012. She was born December 2, 1915 in Oconto, Wisconsin to John and Mary (Marshall) Hartert. She was in the U.S. Army during WWII. Elizabeth was a clerk and typist for Brulin and Company for 25 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Goldenariers, American Legion Post #495, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Color Guard. Elizabeth is survived by her brother, Clarence Hartert and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Adams; 4 sisters and 6 brothers. Funeral services will be Monday, November 26 at 1 p.m. in Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary , with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. My mother and Betty were best friends in Oconto. I knew Betty all my life. I called her foster Mom and she called me foster daughter. What a beautiful, wonderful women she was! My deepest sympathy to her family and other friends.

I worked with Betty for 8 years and she was always so upbeat and happy. Endless energy! I will always remember Betty for her kindess and good spirit. Your family has my deepest sympathy.

Betty was a very good neighbor to me while I lived next door to her for seven years. I considered her a good friend. My sympathy goes out to her family and others who remember her.
