Morris D. Dawson
92, of Indianapolis, passed away November 13, 2012. He was born August 31, 1920, in Elnora, IN, to the late Bert and Emma Payton Dawson.
Morris served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Maude Smallwood, and she preceded him in death April 20, 1998. Morris was a tool & die maker for Ideal Engineering for 27 years, retiring in 1980. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Cumberland.
Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Wash ington Memorial Chapel , 9606 E. Washington St., and Saturday, from 12 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cumberland, 116 S. Meussing St.
Morris is survived by his children, Phylis Richter, Judy Harper, Sue (Tim) Gahimer, Kathy Dawson and Dennis Dawson; daughters-in-law, Betty Dawson and Marcy Dawson; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Kenneth Dawson; two sons-in-law, Edward Richter and Jack Harper; and 11 siblings, also preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Cumberland and/or Simon Cancer Center.

Dad, I will miss you so very much. I learned so very much from you. I loved your teasing and I loved hearing you say " I love you". I loved seeing you interact with your great grandchildren. They love their papaw great so much. Give mom a hug for me. Miss her too.

Uncle Morris was always a joy to be around ~ the Dawson brothers were unique in their love of teasing! It's sad to say goodbye to him in this last part of our family's generation. I hope that all of his family will be comforted with wonderful memories. God bless!

Love you family so very much! So very thankful that Uncle Morris knew our Lord and is now relaxing in heaven with a very special lady! I so enjoyed spending many summer days with Uncle Morris tormenting the daylights out of me! But I loved him anyway!

Mr. Dawson's presence will be missed in the Hidden Lake Estates neighborhood! He was a fun and energetic neighbor, the kids loved him, and it won't be the same without him. Rest in Peace Mr. Dawson.
