Clarence Wm. Hord

Of Indianapolis, was born on March 16, 1921 to the late Helen and Richard R. Hord, passed away on February 27, 2012 in Pleasant View Lodge, McCordsville, IN.

He lived most of his adult life in South East Florida before returning home to Indianapolis in 2006. He was retired from Broward County Hospital in 1989 of Florida.

Having been an avid tennis player he enjoyed following the sport on TV along with football and he loved being outdoors.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Willie (Gary) Campbell and Sharon (David) Allman of Indianapolis and 2 sons, Charles (Donna) Caldwell and Ray (Susan) Hord of Florida. He was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Carolyn Hord 1945, Roberta Conover (2000) and Clarissa Kent (2007) and his wife, Ara Hord (2004). He is also survived by 2 brothers, Joe Hord of Picune, Mississippi and Paul Hord of Mooresville, IN. Also preceded him in death are sisters, Mildred Mitchell, Elnora Singhurst and brother, Ernie Hord. He had 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Per Clarence's request there will be no services. He has bequeathed his remains to IU School of Medicine, Anatomical Educational Program, of which memorial contributions can be sent to MS Room 5035, 635 Barnhill Drive, Indianapolis IN 46202, or sent to , Indianapolis, 3500 DePauw Blvd., Indianapolis IN 46268 in Memory of Clarence Wm Hord.
