Reverend Clinton Edward Kinney

of Indianapolis died January 14, 2013. Born April 29, 1923 in Tama, Iowa to Robert D and Altha Aleta Brown Kinney who preceded him in death, Clint was the youngest of 7 children. He was also preceded in death by brothers Kenneth, Chester and Matthew and sisters Violet Nicholson, Della Grondahl and Emily Elizabeth Moss.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Patricia McDonough Kinney, daughter Colette Kinney Cantrell (Lamont), son James Kinney (Simone), and daughter Gillian Kinney Barber Harris (Paul). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Felicia Cantrell Schumacher, Kreed Barber and Reina Barber, many nieces and nephews. Reverend Kinney was educated at the Culter Academy in Southern California. He was a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute and Wheaton College in Illinois where he served as president of the men's Glee Club. He received a Masters of Divinity at the Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey. He was ordained in the Presbyterian denomination and served churches in Illinois, California, Rochester and Medina, New York, Melbourne, Australia, Florida and Ohio. After more than 40 years in active ministry, Reverend Kinney retired in 1985. He had a hobby of needlework and needle pointed kneeler covers for the Episcopal Cathedral in Houston, Texas and St. Francis Episcopal Church in Temple, Texas. He had a life long interest in learning and a passion for travel and the beauty in nature. He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service with celebration of the Eucharist will be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 26, 2013 at Christ Church Cathedral, 125 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN.
